Congressman Joe 'you lie' Wilson's Travel Probe dropped

West Columbia, SC (WLTX) — The ethics probe into Rep. Joe Wilson’soverseas travel expenses is over.

The House ethics committee has dropped its investigation into spending by Wilson and five other congressmen who traveled abroad as part of official delegations.
Members of Congress are said to be allowed up to $250 per day to cover personal expenses.
One question in the probe was whether Wilson spent more than his allowance on meals during several trips to the Middle East and Pacific in 2009, but did not return the difference.
“I appreciate members of the [House] Committee on Standards for thoroughly examining the matter brought before them,” Wilson said in a statement. “There was never any doubt in my mind that this matter would be dismissed.”
