Roger Ailes, People tell me it was pathetic I gave Chris Matthews his start on television

Last night, Chris Matthews took a shot at Sarah Palin and Roger Ailes on Hardball. After watching Palin’s comments about Newt Gingrich on Hannity, Matthews concluded that it was “so pathetic that Roger Ailes has put her on television.” Now, Ailes has responded to the comment, sending Matthews a piece of his own medicine.
Ailes’ response came in a statement to MediaBistro:

“This morning, Ailes quips, ‘People tell me all the time it was truly pathetic that I was the one who gave Chris Matthews his start on television.’”

It’s true. Matthews first show was Politics with Chris Matthews which began in 1994 on the short-lived and Ailes-founded cable network America’s Talking. America’s Talking shut down in 1996 and Politics was moved to CNBC where it was renamed Hardball.
